Fly with me ~ Card

This card is my entry to the Vandicrafts Artistry Challenge #15: Bye Bye Birdy.

What I had in mind was slightly different, I could swear I had a stamp that said “you’re nuts about”, my mistake, so I had to make some alterations to my plans and this was the result.

SAM_7647@

It was already dark when I finished, much is not needed for that now, it was about 4pm… Anyway, I didn’t feel like dragging the furniture to my bay window to take a better picture. I would need to drag a chair, the craft lamp, the handyman electric extension to connect the light… I’m already tired! So I took the pictures on my craft table, I hope they are not that bad.

For the first panel I used a stamp by the Stamps of Life and DIY texture paste with the¬†6×6″ stencil template Birds of a Feather.

For the second one I used the bird builder punch (by Stampin’ Up!), covered with clear crackle paint, the leaves and the sentiment are again from the Stamps of Life, and I also used the texture paste with a stencil Zoe had sent me a while ago.

I applied the crackle paint last night and set it aside, today when I retrieved the pieces they were all curled, so I removed the excess, turned the pieces and tried to get them straight with a clear block, but I had to apply some weight. When I returned from the supermarket shopping they were good to go. I think the problem might have been that I didn’t dry the distress ink before applying the crackle paint… Oh well, there is a remedy for everything ūüėČ

In the third panel I used the bird and cage from the Tim Holtz die (also courtesy of Zoe) and the branch is from the bird builder punch. I used the Cracks & Specks stamp set (by Tim Holtz) with embossing powder. The music stamp is from the It is written stamp set (by Bo Bunny).

For the last one I used the same stencil, again with DIY texture paste, and the Vintage stamp set (by Crelando).

From London To Paris ~ Thank you card

I just returned from Paris on Monday, and this was one of the cards I made to the person I went there to meet with.

009@

This is a A7 card.

Materials used on the making of this card:

Elegant Eggplant Cardstock

Very Vanilla Cardstock

Paris to London Stamp Set by Tim Holtz

Mustard Yellow distress re-inker by Tim Holtz

Dusty Concord distress re-inker by Tim Holtz

Alcohol

Stampin’ Spritzer Bottle

Liquid glue

Quick notes:

I’m having so much fun with this background technique! It’s so easy to make, just fill a spray bottle with some alcohol, pop some ¬†re-inker, shake it and it’s ready to go!

I’m making small cards, and in this case if you feel the need, put some paper to mask your project avoiding to spray too much ink in one spot. And… Have fun!

Happy Birthday ~ Girl Card

Today I bring you a card made with a fun technique that can be used in a multitude of ways. Try it out and have fun!

015@

This is a A7 card.

Materials used on the making of this card:

017@

Quick notes:

I started by spraying the white cardstock with the Picked Raspberry re-inker, that I mixed with alcohol in the Stampin’ Spritzer Bottle.

Then I punched out a couple of butterflies and flowers, displayed them on my ‘white’ cardstock, that at this point was more pink, and mixed the Seedless Preserves re-inker with the alcohol, and sprayed it on top of the cardstock. Once done, I removed the butterflies and the flowers.

It was time now to stamp the word ‘Happy Birthday’ on a piece of white scrap paper, inked the edges with the same ink,¬†Pearlescent Purple.

I had a piece of scrap of the Wisteria Wonder cardstock from the Subtles collection, so I punched it out with the Oval Scallop punch.

I had some flowers left over, that I had stamped and punched out, from another card. So, I added one that was stamped with the Pearlescent Purple ink.

To finish I assembled everything with liquid glue.

Sea You Soon ~ Card

Another card for today, enjoy.

012@

This is a A7 card.

Materials used on the making of this card:

010@  011@

Quick notes:

I started by filling the Stampin’ Spritzer Bottles with alcohol and the re-inkers, then I sprayed my white piece of cardstock.

I then stamped the corals with the Whisper White ink, but I didn’t like the result, so I put some white embossing powder on top of the ink and heat embossed it.

Next I stamped the bubbles, followed by the turtles. I filled in the bubbles with a wet brush and the Tumbled Glass distress ink.

Last I stamped the sentence on a distressed piece of scrap paper, Punched it out with the Oval Large punch, sponged the edges. Punched out another piece of scrap paper with the Oval Scallop punch to layer it behind my sentence, and assembled everything with liquid glue.

Once again, because the cardstock is dark, I added a layer of white paper on the inside.

22nd Birthday ~ card

This is a CASE (Copy And Share Everything) Card. When I saw it in one of the Facebook groups it was already a CASE, so I have no idea who to give credit to, but I loved it and I knew I had to make one! So, I made this one to celebrate my daughter’s 22nd birthday.

Quick notes:

I stamped the numbers, then punched them out with the circle punch. After that I glued it on my background.

Then I just stamped a bunch of flowers with different inks, and punched them out, layering them around my circle. Nice and easy!

Thanks! ~ Card

Hi!

One of my birthday gifts was the¬†Paris to London stamp set by Tim Holtz, and I’m loving it!

Here is one of the cards I already made.

007@

This is a A7 card.

Materials used on the making of this card:

008@  009@

Quick notes:

I started by stamping the flag with Aged Mahogany distress ink, as many times as needed until the card is filled.

I then stamped the Big Ben twice with Vintage Photo distress ink.

The guard and the word ‘London’ were stamped with¬†Black Soot¬†distress ink.

I distressed a piece of scrap paper with the¬†Aged Mahogany distress¬†ink, stamped the word ‘thanks’, inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress¬†ink, and punched it out with the Oval Large punch.

Because I used a dark cardstock, I added a white layer on the inside.

I used liquid glue to assemble all the layers
