Cry me a river… of lies ~ Art Journal

Hello from my craft table again!

Here is another page for this art journal journey. My pages are busy, I like them that way ūüėÄ

I’m adding this project to the Desing by Ryn’s February Customer Creation Challenge

Once again I started with the distress ink.

Then my table got really crowded.

I Am Board ~ Art Journal

Hi,
This art journal thing was more difficult than I ever thought and after two pages failures, I had to give up, for now, on acrylic paints and gesso and return to my distress ink. I can’t work on the book format, it’s difficult to stamp, to use stencils… The thing wasn’t just working for me, so I repeated the two pages I had done but this time in loose sheets and with my beloved distress ink.
For now I’m going to keep it at A5 size, then I will eventually bind it all.

I am so not showing you the piece of crap I made with the acrylic paint, but here is the distress ink version.

007@

Material used:
  • Distress ink: Chipped sapphire, broken china, mustard seed, salty ocean.
  • Stamps: summer4fun (by TSOL)
  • Stencils: Woodgrain (by Tim Holtz) and texturized (TCW)

The Natural Path ~ Art Journal

Hello everyone,

So I decided to venture in this Art Journal thing, it seemed to be the natural path as I suck at card making and many things that I want to try don’t fit into my scrapbook albums, however, my struggle started on my first attempt. I love the distress inks and blending tool as much as I resist the brush but here I am… Trying. Leaning. Practicing.

After just half a page I had to get my distress inks and the blending tool, but I’ve tried.

Here is the thing, I can’t get the Gelatos thing right and I have tried, like, really hard. I can’t make myself like the result. Am I that addicted to distress ink?

When I saw the Gelatos I thought they were just perfect, the videos that I’ve watched make them look like so easy to use, so beautiful. The only thing I could master so far with Gelatos was how to make mud and a big mess. So in this first project, the cover of my journal, I had to start all over again, it seems that lately I can’t get it right at the first… So, at the second attempt I used the Gelatos on the top half of the page, then I just gave up and used the distress ink for the rest. Maybe I should just learn how to dance instead of blaming the floor.

If that wasn’t enough, here I am completely out of my comfort zone. Colour. Lots of it. Scary. But done!

Here is my first Art Journal project.

Book Of Shadows ~ Covers

Oppsy, I can’t believe that I’m sharing this project with you, but I am.

As you know by now, I do not blog in a professional way, meaning that I don’t earn any money here. For that reason, I only share the projects that I make for myself, so I’m never worried in creating content for the sake of selling anything to anyone or just to keep this space active, it will always be as active as I can. With that said, here is the project I’m working on now. It could be called “My Book Of Magick”, maybe I’ll save that title for another project.

Yes, I’m talking about magick with a K. We are all alchemists, whether we know it or not. But I’m not going to expand on my spiritual beliefs in this space ūüėČ instead, I’m just sharing with you the covers I’ve made for this project.

By the way, the stack of books was totally stolen from Vicky. I absolutely love her artwork.

Because Ryn allows up tp three projects per month on her Customer Creation Challenge I am submitting this one in addition to the last two already submitted.

2016 Planner Covers ~ Part 1

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

2015 was a hell of a year for me, and not in a good way… So let’s see what 2016 will bring.

Last year around this time I started working on a personal planner as a business project, ¬†but life decided to snatch it away from me, and only in December, I could return to it. It’s a beta test at this point and will be for the entire year.

Apart from that, craft wise, I wasn’t t too active last year and what you saw on the blog was pretty much what I did, with the exception of one or two scrapbook layouts that I didn’t find it worth of sharing. But I’m all over the place and you can also find me here, here, here and here.

So, today I’m sharing some of the covers for my planner. Because at this point I’m the only one using this planner and it is still in a test phase when I printed out the covers I forgot to remove the line of my table… With the exception of February… Guess what? I messed up the February cover and had to start all over again, that’s why that is the only one that doesn’t have the box highlighted. Oh, and I still need to add the tabs…

This is the cover for the planner itself, I might change it for I Am Creating… 2017?, not sure yet.

For this one, I used milled lavender and wilted violet distress ink (by Tim Holtz), and swirls2build stamp set (by TSOL)

(0) I AM Manifesting 2016@

For January, I used tumbled glass and blueprint sketch distress ink (by Tim Holtz), Elegant Eggplant Ink (by Stampin’ Up!) and Flowering Flourishes stamp set (by Stampin’ Up!)

For February, I used victorian velvet and aged mahogany distress ink (by Tim Holtz), Seasonally Scattered stamp set (by Stampin’ Up!) and Celtic Heart (CM-C8 by Designs by Ryn)

(02) February@

For March, I used spun sugar and picked raspberry distress ink (by Tim Holtz) and Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (by Stampin’ Up!)

(03) March@

For April, I used dusty concord and seedless preserves distress ink (by Tim Holtz) and Sea Bubbles stamp set (CM-S15 by Designs by Ryn)

(04) April@

For May, I used shaded lilac and wilted violet distress ink (by Tim Holtz), Fine Feathers and Four Feathers stamp sets (by Stampin’ Up!)

(05) May@

And for June, I used mustard seed and fossilized amber distress ink (by Tim Holtz), and Work of Art stamp set (by Stampin’ Up!)

(06) June@

Because my photography skills didn’t improve much, and the weather around here has been on the dark side (for photography purposes) this time I decided to scan my work… Between a cheap scanner and bad lighting combined with poor photography skills… You choose wich one is worse, but I can assure you that they look much better in person. They actually look gorgeous ūüėÄ

By the way, am I the only one who hates the changes they make on stuff that is working just fine? Every time I need to make a new post everything has changed, which drives me crazy! Is like learning how to use the bloody thing all over again… Never mind my rant…

I’ll have to come back with more covers in another post. Until then, have a nice time.

In Love & Gratitude,
Denise
